Director of Business and Finance
Howdy! My name is JoAnna Pareya Macik, and I serve as the Director of Business and Finance for West ISD. My first role in school finance was as the Staff Accountant for West ISD beginning in 2015. I have almost 30 years of accounting experience from industries such as county government, manufacturing, health insurance, hospital and now, school district. I have also completed my CTSBS (Certified Texas School Business Specialist) and CTSBO (Certified Texas School Business Official) certifications from TASBO (Texas Association of School Business Officials).
West ISD is a great district to serve, and I am proud to be involved in the many business and financial operations of the District. The students, staff and community along with its rich culture make West a great place to live and work. I should know, as I am a 5th generation Westite and attended West schools from kindergarten to my graduation in 1997. With the exception of my time in College Station, attending and graduating from Texas A&M University in 2002, and a few years in Wylie, I am proud to have always called West my home.
The Business Office and Finance Department are responsible for all District purchases, revenue, budgets, investments, financial and inventory audits, grant accounting, contract management, fundraising and construction project accounting.
