hello West ISD midget ruin here as we complete you're one of the engage learning model rollout I felt now is a great time to reflect and evaluate just give us progressed in impacted student learning and she meant in the reengage and refocus everyone on where West diocese planning to go in the near future on this journey I believe the West ISD team and Community Values transform classrooms that are Dynamic learning environments that help facilitate relevant just for students that Foster Mastery of our state standards as you know the engage folks trained and equipped you are teachers and administrators knowledge and resources needed to design facilitate and leave these experiences so that all of our students can acquire the hard and saw Skittles to be 21st century or what we call Future Ready engaged learning model what we call Elm help students become Future Ready it's an inquiry learning model that most closely resembles project-based learning or pbl one of the primary inquiry learning strategies in the most strongly supported Woodbine Circle research in terms of achievements engagement motivation and College and Career readiness all decisions should be consistent with our mission vision and graduate profile we also believe they should be database we also believe they should be anchored and Tyrion practiced and focused on what is best for the short and long-term interests of all students in short we believe in identifying best practices Haitian our classrooms by our teachers and students think of it in terms of tools for your tool belts one of these tools is profit project-based learning this tool or best practices is one we value and West I Steve just like we do several others like flip learning or Robert Marzano's 9 instructional strategies once life Carol Ann Tomlinson differentiated classroom I know you'll agree that we want the Essential Elements of pbl Orc in our classrooms and here are just if you would like to see collaboration between our students we know we'd like to see problem and creative they solving skills being introduced and utilized by her students We believe We want our teachers to service facilitators and coaches we want to see real world application the student learned we know students utilize and Prout Kohl's in the areas of time management responsibility teamwork and research intervention and conflict resolution are all great things all we want our students to be exposed to before leaving West High School for college or their career choice again best practices tools for your class teaching and learning tool belts for the 2015 school year all administrators will be trained will continue to provide support for a year 1 teachers and Dynasty will continue to offer new training slots to any interest of teachers are frequent instruction team will continue to research the best units and is within TRS grade levels and content areas to infuse the engage model to help increase student achievement and engagement again all about achievement engagement motivation in College and Career Readiness I hope this helps go engage go pbl go best teaching Suzanne all West ISD classrooms thank you the time to come to school today I talk to my parents more about school this year than last year I like come to school more could you get projects I feel like it's helping me remember stuff more more stuff than I felt like I was getting taught last year sorry I like working with the team because you can work more often like you get a lot more also like it because I don't have to do it for myself head re prepares us for the future what jobs we have fits in a group they can help us work better as a team it's we do dinner journal and we have white kind of fun little activities to do and it helps us learn better or no and your career if you're going to be paired up with people if you don't have that experience it'll be hard because you don't have the social skills to work with people and you you just won't do that is if you were doing a gauge before finding the answer on the internet then is better than hearing it from your teacher because sometimes  you need to learn it for yourself I think if we have something that was fun or something like that will help us remember cuz it's oh yeah that we did that project to help us on this subject if you don't really always repay it when you research it when you get it yourself keep it cuz you feel like you found it it's your stuff this year I feel like I'm learning more cuz last year just had papers and we went over it then it was over and we didn't really do that much stuff to help us remember we don't just give Uncharted answering we show him how to do it cuz you can't do it all the time by yourself so you will need to collaborate to say can you help me with can you help me with that I work with other people and if I don't remember stuff they kind of help me out to remember it and I think I think of the kids will like them too I think it's fun to like work gather and put things together when you get up we get to do a lot experiments during our projects  housing really be interested in doing products my other classes is no bit more funner you know the textbook sometimes there's more information computers and you get like a whole new world I feel proud when we work together so proud when I finally got done with that text nothing personal and I was so proud to know I was a day behind cattle prod where are we again when we accomplish the project
