West Elementary School 2019 Bond Information
On Tuesday, July 16, 2019, and Tuesday, July 30, 2019, two Community and Staff Planning Meeting for a possible new Bond Project for a new West Elementary School campus were held at 6:30 PM at the West ISD Administration Building and West Elementary School. The purpose of those meetings was to bring together community and staff members to review and discuss the May 2018 Bond Results, review Survey Feedback, and present potential Bond timelines and tasks. Next, several Community Forums and Listening Sessions will be scheduled and publicized. The West ISD Board of Trustees also held a Special Called Meeting on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, for Claycomb Architects to hold a Bond Project Workshop. Next, the West ISD Board of Trustees scheduled two Public Hearings for anyone in the community who was interested in addressing the Board about the potential Bond. The Hearings were set for Wednesday, August 14, and Thursday, August 15, 2019, at 6:30 PM at the West ISD Administration Building (406 West Shook St.).
During the Special Called Meeting on Thursday, August 15, 2019, the West ISD Board of Trustees discussed and voted to adopt the order to call a bond for a new West Elementary School for the upcoming November Election. The bond amount is for $21,485,000., and the district tax rate would be $1.37. For a district homeowner assuming a $100,000. market value, the monthly tax impact would be $11.42.
