West ISD Home Learning Plan and Activities

Home Learning Plan Overview

Below, all West ISD families will find West ISD-created online Home Learning Activities  for grades Prekindergarten through 8. Please note all grades 9-12 Home Learning Activities have moved to the Schoology online platform. The PK through grade 8 Google Docs are lined-out by grade level, content area, and day of the week. The content areas include Reading/English (ELAR), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Electives/Specials. West ISD deeply understands that educating our students is a partnership between the school staff and home. Please know the District is here for your family throughout these challenging times.

Monday, April 6, 2020, began the next phase of the West ISD Home Learning Plan. With the new guidance on grading and course completion communicated from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) on Monday, March 30, 2020, the District responded to the state’s expectations for assigned coursework and activities for the remaining six-weeks of school, or April 6-May 20, 2020.

The District recorded a YouTube Video to assist with understanding the next phase of the learning plan. Here’s the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Za1j-n-EZ40. The District also created a new FAQ to help highlight questions (with answers) about the final six-weeks grading period expectations and assignment grading news.
