The Trojan Times is a monthly newspaper completely produced by a class of 8th grade students as an elective. This twelve page publication hosts information on current events, club news, student and staff spotlights, schedules, Top 10 lists, and even an advice column.
The newspaper also features several contests that will be held during the year. A Lucky Number drawing will be held for each issue, and gift certificates will be given away. Prizes include, $10 gift certificate to Bush’s Chicken, $10 gift certificate to Academy, and a $10 gift certificate to Abercrombie and Fitch to name a few. Newspaper Submissions such as letters to the editor or news tips/ideas are gladly accepted from students, parents, faculty, staff, and the community. To be considered, any submission must follow these guidelines:

• All submissions (from inside WMS and outside) must be signed and have the name printed or typed
• All submissions from outside of West Middle School must have an address, name and phone number
• All submissions are subject to screening and editing
• The newspaper staff reserves the right not to publish a submission received
• All submissions should be either turned into Mr. Fulbright in the office, e-mailed to gfulbright@west-isd.net, or mailed to Mr. Fulbright at West Middle School 801 North Reagan St. West, TX 76691

The class is led by Mrs. Hancock and Mr. Fulbright, and class members are Devin Allen, Gage Allen, Justin Cvikel, Ryan Ellinger, Pierce Grimm, Will Grones, Michelle Harwood, Ashley Hykel, Allison Jares, Lauren Jares, Clifton Lambert, Brooke Lopez, Daisy Mendoza, Alicia Nors, Taylor Pustejovsky, Dusti Tucker, and Jonathan Williams.

The printed publication is available for .25 from the newspaper staff or the Middle School Office. These funds support the contest prizes and misc. supplies.
Although The Trojan Times is accessible from the West Middle School website, it remains copyrighted material. Permission is granted to print The Trojan Times unmodified, but may not be distributed for profit.
