An important goal of West ISD is that parents, community members and educators be active partners in the education of our students. We encourage you to discuss with the campus principal opportunities for parent/community involvement and volunteering opportunities at each campus. The most valuable contribution you can make to the education of your children is to be supportive of their academic endeavors from providing help and support on homework, to communicating with teachers, and reviewing progress reports and report cards with your child.
Other ways WISD parents can be involved is
Attendance at the school activities which include, but are not limited to the following:
Active membership and participation in the PTO including attending PTO meetings
Active membership and participation including attending meetings for booster clubs (athletic, band, ag)
Attending parenting education series of meetings hosted by campus counselors
Attending meetings for college planning, financial aide and scholarship application hosted by the high
school counselors
Attending meetings specifically for your child such as LPAC or ARD meetings
Attending contests and events for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
Attending open House and other special events
Attending school board meetings
